Why are you passionate about excellence?
Perfection is not possible, but excellence in your field is. Life is about learning and developing and I believe we can always get better.
Why are you passionate about people development?
It is often pushed out under the trite statement of ³Our people are our greatest asset² and yet if we invest in them, they will achieve amazing things given the resources they have. Part of that development must lie at the leadership level as they set the tone of what excellence and development is about.
Which three words sum up leadership for you?
Integrity, purpose and motivation.
Who is your Leadership inspiration and why?
Mike Neville, my old squadron boss, because he had to lead a squadron of committed professionals following the loss of a Hercules in the second Gulf War which was a very dark time for all. Even now he is an inspiration to me and many others because of his commitment to developing and helping people. Look after your people and they will look after you and others within the team.
